Dr Winston Thai is a 3rd year General medicine advanced trainee based in NSW. He completed basic physician training in the Gold Coast network in Queensland, passing both written and clinical exams in 2018. Following this he moved down to Sydney for general medicine advanced training in various hospitals including Nepean hospital, Blacktown Hospital (under guidance of Dr Tarafdar) and at Royal North Shore Hospital network. He completed subspecialty advanced training in respiratory and cardiology, and able to competently manage respiratory diseases including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and cardiac diseases such as heart failure and arrhythmias. He is an active member of Internal Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand (IMSANZ). He believes in providing and delivering the best possible holistic care to the complex medical patient. He has worked in refractory hypertension clinics, and managed type 1 and type 2 diabetes inpatients. However his keen interest is in the diagnostic work-up and management of rheumatological diseases and their complications. He is passionate about teaching and medical education and is actively involved in teaching and providing lectures to interns, residents and medical students and a conjoint lecturer with University of NSW. He was previously conjoint lecturer with Western Sydney and Sydney University.
